His Wish: To visit the Gold Coast Theme Parks
Andrew was born with damaged kidneys, he only has one kidney which functions at 33% of a normal kidney. His family knew from the age of 6 months that one day he would need a transplant. His quality of life has been affected, he often has no energy, he hasn't grown as tall as his friends and he has endured many painful procedures and surgeries. He also needed a permanent tube in his stomach to supplement his meals as his appetite was affected.
Last year Andrew received a new kidney from his father which means he will not have to go on dialysis. As the family live in the country he still has to endure regular 500km trips to hospital for checkups but his quality of life greatly improved.
Your support will help make Andrew’s wish come true. ‘My number one Starlight Wish is to go to Movie World, because I love Spiderman, Batman and other superheroes,’ said Andrew.
Starlight would like to help Andrew and his family experience a long awaited family holiday to the Gold Coast to enjoy a 7-night stay and experience the fun and thrill of the Gold Coast Theme Parks – Movie World, Dream World and Sea World.
To make Andrew’s experience extra special, Starlight is also organising for Andrew to meet-and-greet his favourite superhero Batman, and also to experience the underwater realm of his favourite animal…sharks at Sea World.
For Andrew and his family this long awaited holiday will be a unique experience full of joy and happiness for the whole family. It will also give them quality time together, away from the rigours of routine medication and hospital treatment.
