In 2008, Cruise for Charity became an environmentally friendly event by carbon offsetting through a partnership with GreenFleet.

With over 2,000,000kms completed across seven states, it was important that we try to protect not only the children that your donations support, but also our environment.

Part of the minimum donation to participate in Cruise for Charity 5 went toward the planting of trees that effectively offset your carbon emissions generated through participating in the cruises.

More than 2600 native trees will be planted as a result of your donations in 2008 that totalled over $6000. These plants will soak up 2647 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere, making Cruise for Charity 5 a 'carbon friendly' series of events.

Cruise for Charity will participate in this Carbon Offsetting scheme again in 2009.
