Cruise for Charity 5 Hits 600!

As registrations continue to flood in, the national tally has just topped 600 and news is continuing to spread throughout the country that 2008 will be the biggest Cruise for Charity ever.

In indivdual states, NSW has just topped 200 registered attendees, while Victoria has just eclipsed 100.

CRUISE RULES ADDED - CRUISE FOR CHARITY IS AN ALCOHOL-FREE EVENT!

Street Commodores officially announces the creation of an official set of Cruise for Charity rules. They are neither extensive or lengthy. Instead, they are some simple, common sense rules that must be followed by anyone attending the cruises - whether they be donating drivers or passengers.

The biggest rule beyond simply following the road rules to the letter involves alcohol and Cruise for Charity's total banning of it.

While alcohol has not before become a major issue at any of the Cruise for Charity events, there have been isolated cases of small groups of people bringing along cartons of beer and consuming the entire amount within the relatively small time spent at the destination point.

From Cruise for Charity 5 onward, this will no longer tolerated and anyone found to be drinking will either have their beverages confiscated or the persons will be ejected from the facility.

We just launched the new Cruise for Charity logo for 2008! You can see it by looking up and to the right.

This logo will adorn all promotional and marketing materials for the 2008 series of Cruise for Charity events, including several hundred vinyl-cut window stickers that we'll have for sale shortly in the lead-up to the events.

The first public mention and viewing of the new website takes place, launched through the Street Commodores forum and follwed closely by a news item on streetcommodores.com and through its related eNewsletter.
